Andrew Simmons is a wrestling coach, competitor, and mentor whose career combines elite competition experience with a passion for athlete development.
A native of Palmdale, California, Simmons was a California State Placer and CIF Divisional Champion while attending Highland High School, laying the foundation for a lifelong dedication to the sport.
He wrestled collegiately for Missouri Valley College under head coach Mike Machholz from 2013–2018, coached by National Wrestling Hall of Fame coach Mike Machholz and 3x National Champion. After redshirting his freshman year, he qualified for the NAIA National Championships in four consecutive seasons (2015–2018) and became a two-time All-American, placing 5th in 2017 and finishing as the runner-up in 2018.
He graduated in 2018 with a Bachelor of Science in Public Relations and a minor in Communications.

He later joined Drury University as a graduate assistant coach during the 2019–2020 season while pursuing his Master's in Integrated Marketing Communications, coached alongside 3x NCAA Division 2 national champion coach James Reynolds, NCAA Division 2 4x All-American Nick Burghardt, and NCAA Division 2 All-American Blake Cleavanger. He has since completed his degree — enhancing his ability to blend strategic communication with technical coaching. That expertise now complements his professional career, as Andrew works in marketing technology as a product and project manager, where he applies his skills in strategy, leadership, and execution.
As a coach, Simmons has developed athletes to first-time NCAA DII All-American honors, guided world team members, and earned recognition for his instruction from Olympians, Hall of Fame coaches, world team members, and fellow All-Americans.
Today, Simmons competes as a B-Team BJJ competitor and coaches at Elite Fight Club Hurghada in Egypt, on the Red Sea. Combining his elite wrestling base with advanced grappling, he works with local athletes, expats, and international travelers — bringing world-class instruction to Hurghada.
